See the beautiful fjords, mountains and waterfalls on this tour from Flåm. You start the tour by taking the train from Flåm up to Myrdal. We suggest the train leaving about 09:30 a.m. During the train journey, you will not be accompanied by the guide. You will get the train tickets and detailed information about the train journey, the railway station in Flåm is right next to the cruise pier and very easy to find.
The Flåm railway is a great way to see the Flåm valley with a river flowing though it and tall mountains surrounding it. It is a steep railway taking you up from 0 metres above sea level to 867 metres within about an hour. On the way you will have one stop at a waterfall where the passengers get off the train to see and take pictures of the waterfall. In Myrdal you will change the train to a train to Voss (direction towards Bergen). The second part of the train journey takes about 50 minutes.
Arriving by the train in Voss, at about 11:30 a.m., our driver-guide will meet you at the train station. We will drive to Gudvangen with a stop at Tvindefossen waterfall and at Stalheim hotel, where we enjoy the view from the terrace of the Nærøydalen valley.
In Gudvangen we will have time for lunch, a walk along the fjord and either visiting the Viking museum or driving to see the little village Bakka.
The driver-guide will accompany you to the cruise pier, where you will leave at 2:30 p.m. on a cruise through the narrowest part of Sognefjorden – Nærøyfjorden back to Flåm. The boat is an electric catamaran with good space on the deck to enjoy the fjord views.
You will arrive by the cruise back to Flåm at 4:30 p.m.
